How to Mark Jurisdictions as Collecting Sales Tax

Marking Jurisdictions for Sales Tax Collection

When our system detects that you're currently not collecting sales tax for specific jurisdictions, you'll see a helpful nudge on your Dashboard prompting you to update your settings. This ensures you're accurately managing your sales tax obligations.

Step-by-step guide:

1. Access Pending Tasks on Your Dashboard

  • Navigate to your Dashboard.

  • In the Pending Tasks section, you'll find a notification indicating the number of jurisdictions requiring attention.

  • Click on the Review button next to this notification.

2. Review the List of Jurisdictions Requiring Action

  • Clicking Review will direct you to the Registration Page.

  • On this page, you'll see a list of jurisdictions needing updates. For example, if Indiana requires attention, you'll see the Mark as Collecting button next to it.

3. Mark as Collecting: Review Details

  • Click the Mark as Collecting button next to the relevant jurisdiction.

  • A pop-up modal will appear asking: "Are you sure you want to mark as collecting?"

4. Confirm and Proceed

  • Within this pop-up, you have the option to click a helpful link to review detailed instructions and settings for tax collection.

  • Once reviewed, click the Confirm button to finalize marking the jurisdiction as actively collecting sales tax.

That's it! You've successfully updated your sales tax collection settings for the necessary jurisdiction(s). Keeping your settings current helps you stay compliant and manage your taxes effortlessly.
