Indonesia operates a single national VAT jurisdiction. Unlike the United States, there are no state-level or provincial VAT systems in Indonesia. All VAT obligations are managed at the federal level through the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT).
Jurisdiction Level | Jurisdiction Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Federal | Indonesia | Single national rate applies to all taxable transactions |

RT/RW (optional neighborhood identifier)
Kelurahan/Desa (village)
Kecamatan (subdistrict)

Indonesia has designated Free Trade Zones (FTZ) and Special Economic Zones (KEK/Bonded Zones) in certain areas. These zones may have different VAT treatment for physical goods. For digital goods and SaaS services, however, these zone distinctions are out of scope and do not affect VAT calculations in Kintsugi.
There are no separate regional or local VAT rates in Indonesia. The standard national PPN rate applies uniformly across all provinces and cities.
