This help article walks you through the steps to grant third-party access to your Maryland sales tax account. Providing these permissions allows Kintsugi to retrieve your registration details and complete the registration import setup within the app.
Go to Maryland Tax Connect.
Enter your “User ID” and “Password” and click “Log In.”
Enter the following credentials for the “New User Authorization” page:
User ID: KintsugiMD
Registration Confirmation Number: TU00002243919
Click the “Next” button to proceed.
Check the box to the left of the taxpayer's name.
For the start date, enter January 1st of the year Kintsugi will begin filing for you.
Click "Taxpayer Functions" button to continue.
Check the box next to each of the following:
File Returns for All Taxes
Make a Bill Payment
Make Payments for All Taxes
View Notices
View Tax Type Specific Notices for All Taxes
Click the “OK” button.
You will receive a pop-up, "Please select Save on the User Detail page in order to submit the changes" and select "OK" again.
Check the box next to "SALES AND USE TAX / FILING."
For the start date, enter January 1st, 20XX, the year Kintsugi will begin filing for them.
Click “Account Functions.”
Under “Account Functions” check the box next to the following:
File Returns
Make Payments
View Tax Type Specific Notices
Click the “OK” button.
Upon returning to the “Account Authorizations” page, select "OK" in the bottom right corner.
You will receive a pop-up, "Please select Save on the User Detail page in order to submit the changes." Select "OK" again.
On the “User Details” page, select "Save" in the bottom-right corner.
On the confirmation page, confirm all eight functions listed above have been assigned and click the "Confirm" button.
