Peru applies Value-Added Tax (VAT) at the national level, locally known as Impuesto General a las Ventas (IGV). This tax is administered by Peru's national tax authority, SUNAT (Superintendencia Nacional de Aduanas y de Administración Tributaria), which operates under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Kintsugi supports Peru VAT compliance for two primary business types:
Resident businesses (companies incorporated or physically operating in Peru)
Non-resident remote sellers (foreign companies selling digital or SaaS services to Peruvian consumers)
Nexus monitoring (physical, economic, and collected tax nexus)
VAT registration (new registration and import of existing registrations)
Tax engine for collecting VAT on B2B SaaS and B2C SaaS transactions

Note: The MYPE Tax Regime (RMT) for resident businesses and Digital Services Tax (DST) are currently out of scope for this version.
