To import your existing Mississippi sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you'll need to provide a few details issued by the Mississippi Department of Revenue when you registered your business. Mississippi manages its tax accounts through the Taxpayer Access Point (TAP), the state's online portal for filing, paying, and managing business taxes. Once imported, Kintsugi can manage your Mississippi sales tax filings through AutoPilot.
When importing an existing Mississippi sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you'll need the following:
Customer Account ID
Letter ID
Your Customer Account ID is the tax account number assigned to your business by the Mississippi Department of Revenue when you registered for a sales tax account. This is an 8-digit format, usually written as 0000-0000.
You can find your Customer Account ID in any of the following places:
Your Mississippi Certificate of Registration. When you registered, the Mississippi Department of Revenue issued a Certificate of Registration for your business. Your Customer Account ID is included on this certificate.
Your TAP account. Log in to your TAP account at tap.dor.ms.gov and navigate to your sales and use tax account summary to locate your Customer Account ID.
Mississippi Department of Revenue correspondence. Any notices, letters, or account-related communications from the Mississippi DOR will reference your Customer Account ID.
A Letter ID is a unique number printed on all correspondence from the Mississippi Department of Revenue. It is used to verify your identity and link you to your tax account.
You can find your Letter ID in any of the following places:
Mississippi Department of Revenue notices or letters. Any correspondence mailed to you by the Mississippi DOR will include a Letter ID printed on the document.
Your TAP account. Log in at tap.dor.ms.gov, navigate to your account, and check your inbox or correspondence history for letters from the Mississippi DOR that include a Letter ID.
Once you provide the required credentials, Kintsugi will initiate the third-party access request. You do not need to validate or approve the request separately, as Kintsugi will complete this step on your behalf.
Once access is confirmed, Kintsugi can continue with the registration import setup in the app.
