To import your existing New Jersey sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you'll need to provide a few details issued by the New Jersey Division of Taxation when you registered your business. New Jersey manages its tax accounts through the New Jersey Tax Portal, the state's online portal for filing, paying, and managing business taxes. Once imported, Kintsugi can manage your New Jersey sales tax filings.
When importing an existing New Jersey sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you'll need the following:
Taxpayer ID
Portal Access Passcode
Business Name
Tax Type
Amount from Line 1 of most recent return
Your Taxpayer ID (also referred to as your Taxpayer Identification Number or TIN) is the unique number assigned to your business by the New Jersey Division of Taxation for identification purposes when filing returns or making payments.
You can find your Taxpayer ID in any of the following places:

Your Portal Access Passcode is a 6-digit code used to file returns and make payments on the New Jersey Tax Portal. If your business was registered before May 2025 and you were originally assigned a 4-digit PIN, you can convert it to a 6-digit passcode by adding two leading zeros (e.g., PIN 1234 becomes 001234).
