Why the Monitoring Tab Doesn’t Show All 50 States

Learn why the Kintsugi Monitoring tab doesn't list all 50 states: it shows only states with sales tax where you have nexus, plus Washington DC and Puerto Rico.

FAQ: Why isn’t every U.S. state shown in the Monitoring tab?

The Monitoring tab (formerly known as the "Nexus" tab) only shows states and territories where your business has sales tax responsibilities. Here’s why the list might look shorter:

  1. No Sales Tax = Not Listed
States without sales tax (like Oregon, Montana, New Hampshire, Delaware, and Alaska) are excluded.

  2. Only States Where You Have Nexus
If your business doesn’t have a taxable presence (nexus) in a state, it won’t appear.

  3. Includes Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico
These are not states but are included because they require sales tax collection.

Bottom line: The Monitoring tab focuses only on where you owe sales tax.
