Accessing NetSuite Records from Kintsugi Transactions

Updated 11 days ago

Every transaction Kintsugi syncs from NetSuite carries a link back to the record it came from. Use it when you need to check the original invoice, sales order, or cash sale without searching for it in NetSuite yourself.

Time required: Under a minute You will need:

  • A Kintsugi account with access to the Transactions tab

  • An active NetSuite integration

  • A NetSuite login with permission to view the record type you are opening.

Current as of July 2026, verified against Kintsugi Transactions and the NetSuite integration.

Before you start

The link appears only on transactions that Kintsugi synced from NetSuite. Transactions from a CSV upload, from another integration, or created manually do not have one.

Steps

  1. Log in to Kintsugi.

  1. Navigate to the Transactions tab from the left-hand menu bar.

  1. There are three ways to find a transaction:

    1. Type the transaction ID in the search bar

    2. Type the customer's name in the search bar

    3. Use the filter icon and set Transaction source to your NetSuite integration. Then search by transaction ID or customer's name.

  1. Click the three-dots icon located on the right side of the transaction row.

  1. Select View in Source. The external ID from NetSuite is linked on the transaction.

  1. Selecting it opens that record in NetSuite in a new browser tab.

Sign in if NetSuite asks. If you are not already signed in, NetSuite prompts you first, then takes you to the record.

How to confirm it worked

NetSuite opens the exact record behind the transaction, not a search results page. Check that the customer, date, and total on the NetSuite record match the transaction you started from in Kintsugi.

Things to Know

  • The link goes one way, from Kintsugi to NetSuite. NetSuite records do not display a link back into Kintsugi.

  • Only NetSuite transactions include a source record link today. Other integrations do not.

  • Kintsugi does not grant NetSuite access. If your NetSuite role cannot view that record, NetSuite shows its own permission message

  • The link always opens the current version of the record in NetSuite. If someone edited it after the last sync, NetSuite shows the newer details and Kintsugi catches up on the next sync

  • Opening a source record is read-only navigation. Nothing in Kintsugi changes, and no tax figures are recalculated.

FAQs

Q: Why does my transaction not show a link to NetSuite?

A: The transaction came from somewhere else. Check the Transaction source on the transaction details. Only records synced from NetSuite carry a source link.

Q: Can I go the other way, from a NetSuite invoice to Kintsugi?

A: Not at the moment. The link works from Kintsugi to NetSuite only.

Q: Do I need a separate NetSuite login?
A: Yes. You use your own NetSuite credentials, and your NetSuite permissions decide what you can see.

Q: Does opening the record in NetSuite trigger a sync?
A: No. Following the link is navigation only, and it has no effect on your Kintsugi data or your filings.
