Checkout Champ Tax Engine Integration Guide

This guide walks you through activating the Kintsugi tax plugin in CheckoutChamp, connecting it to your Kintsugi account, and applying it to your campaigns to enable automated sales tax calculation at checkout.

Step 1: Activate the Kingsugi tax plugin

• Click on the Admin section from the navigation sidebar.

• Click on the Plugins page (Admin→Plugins)

• Click on the Tax Services tab.

• Click on the Kintsugi tile.

• Click + Activate.

Step 2: Connect your Kintsugi account

Type in the required fields organizationId and apiKey from Kintsugi.

• Enter an optional FriendlyName to differentiate multiple Kintsugi plugins

• Check sendTransactions to send transactions to Kintsugi. Leave this unchecked to calculate tax only.

• Check calculateShippingTax to allow Kintsugi to calculate an additional tax on the shipping cost

• Check excludeTestCards to not calculate tax on test orders

When finished, click the Connect button.

Step 3: Apply the plugin to campaigns

Go to CRM > Campaigns, then click the blue Edit button next to the Campaign.

This will take you to the Campaign Edit page.

• In the “General Details” Section under "Billing options”. Below Tax Service, click on the drop-down and select Kintsugi. Then, click on the blue "Update."

• Check the box next to “Auto Tax Calculation” if you want it to automatically calculate the sales tax and then click "Update".

Note: Kintsugi automatically determines the sales tax rates at checkout. Kintsugi makes setting up and calculating sales tax for your online store much easier to manage.
