When importing an existing Tennessee sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you may be asked to provide your Letter ID.
A Tennessee Letter ID is a unique code printed on correspondence issued by the Tennessee Department of Revenue. The Letter ID is an 11-character code generated by TNTAP. It starts with the letter “L” followed by 10 digits.
Format: L1234567890.
There are two ways to find your Letter ID.
You can find your Tennessee Letter ID on official correspondence from the Tennessee Department of Revenue. This may include letters, notices, registration documents, or other messages issued for your sales and use tax account.
If you have access to your online account on the Tennessee Department of Revenue, you can also find your Letter ID there. Just follow the instructions:
Log in to your TNTAP account.
Once you see your dashboard, click the blue “More...” hyperlink beside “Settings.”
Navigate to the “Letters” section and click “View Letters.”
You’ll be redirected to a page with the digital copies of the letters you received from the Tennessee Department of Revenue.
Open one of the letters, and you should see your Letter ID there.
