Nevada – Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on Nevada Tax Center

This article walks you through how to log into the My Nevada Tax portal and update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) settings. Adding Kintsugi's secure group email allows us to access your Nevada tax account directly — no phone calls or back-and-forth codes needed.


✅ What You’ll Need

Before you begin, make sure you have the following ready:

  • Your My Nevada Tax login credentials (username and password)

  • Your Kintsugi Virtual Mail Group (VMG) ID


🔐 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Go to mynvtax.nv.gov/tap/_/

    1. Enter your username and password.

  2. Enter the security code sent through your registered email then click “Confirm”.

    💡 TIP: Check “Trust this browser” — this helps avoid repeated 2FA prompts during the process.

  3. Once logged in, click on “Manage My Profile” in the top-right corner.

  4. Click on the “Security” tab.

    4.1 Look for “Emails” and click on “Manage emails.”

5. Update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) method

5.1 A pop-up “Email” screen will appear.

5.2 Click “Add Email.”

5.3 Access your Virtual Mail Group ID from the Kintsugi App.

5.3.1 Log in to your Kintsugi account.

5.3.2 Navigate to:Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group > Group ID.

5.3.3 Copy your Virtual Mail Group ID.

5.4. Paste your Virtual Mail Group ID in the Email field and click the "Save" button.

  1. Verify the change

    • A verification code will be sent to the email address you linked to Kintsugi’s Virtual Mail Group (VMG)

    • Copy the verification code that was sent to the email and paste it into the website or portal to verify and complete the 2FA setup.

    Once verified, your account is now connected, and Kintsugi can access it as needed.
