Nevada Credentials for Importing Registration

How to locate the state-issued credentials required for importing your Nevada registration.
Updated 2 days ago

To import your existing Nevada sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you'll need to provide a few details issued by the Nevada Department of Taxation when you registered your business. Nevada manages its tax accounts through My Nevada Tax, the state's online portal for filing, paying, and managing business taxes. Once imported, Kintsugi can manage your Nevada sales tax filings through AutoPilot.

Required Credentials

When importing an existing Nevada sales tax registration into Kintsugi, you'll need to provide the following:

  • FEIN

  • Account ID

  • Amount Due on Return

What's My FEIN?

Your FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number) is the federal tax ID number assigned to your business by the IRS. Nevada uses this to identify your business entity in My Nevada Tax.

Where to find it

You can find your FEIN in any of the following places:

  • IRS EIN confirmation letter. When your FEIN was issued, the IRS sent a confirmation letter (CP 575) with your number.

  • Your My Nevada Tax account. Log in at nevadatax.nv.gov and review your business profile to confirm the FEIN on file.

  • Prior federal tax filings. Your FEIN appears on any federal business tax return you've filed.

What's My Account ID?

Your Account ID is the 12-character sales and use tax account number assigned to your business by the Nevada Department of Taxation. It begins with "SUT" and follows the format SUT-0000-0000-0000.

Where to find it

You can find your Account ID in any of the following places:

  • Your My Nevada Tax account. Log in at nevadatax.nv.gov and locate your Account ID on your Sales & Use Tax account tile.

  • Your Nevada Certificate of Registration. Your Account ID is included on the Certificate of Registration issued to you by the Nevada Department of Taxation after your sales tax account was approved.

  • Nevada Department of Taxation correspondence. Any notices or letters from the Nevada Department of Taxation will reference your Account ID.

What's My Amount Due on Return?

Your Amount Due on Return is the total tax due listed on a filed return for this account, not including any penalties, interest, collection allowances, or other tax discounts.

Depending on your filing frequency, you can provide the amount due from any return filed within the following timeframes:

  • Monthly - any return from the last three months

  • Quarterly - any return from the last nine months

  • Annual - any return from the last three years

Where to find it

You can find your Amount Due on Return in any of the following places:

  • Your My Nevada Tax account. Log in at mynvtax.nv.gov, navigate to your sales and use tax account, and review your filing history to locate the tax due amount on a previously filed return.

  • A copy of a previously filed return. If you have paper or digital copies of your Nevada sales tax returns, the Amount Due is listed on the return itself.

  • Nevada Department of Taxation correspondence. Any notices related to filed returns from the Nevada Department of Taxation may reference the tax due amount.

Next Step

Once you provide the required credentials, Kintsugi will initiate the third-party access request. You do not need to validate or approve the request separately, as Kintsugi will complete this step on your behalf.

Once access is confirmed, Kintsugi can continue with the registration import setup in the app.
