If you use Rillet as your AI-native ERP, you can connect it to Kintsugi to streamline your sales tax compliance workflow.
The Rillet integration is read-only, meaning:
Kintsugi imports data from Rillet.
No data is modified inside your Rillet account.
Sales tax calculations are based on synced customers, products, and invoices.
This ensures accurate nexus monitoring and tax calculation without disrupting your ERP processes.
During the connection process, Kintsugi performs an initial import of:
Customers
Products
Invoices
This data enables Kintsugi to:
Monitor nexus thresholds
Apply the correct tax treatment
Calculate sales tax liabilities accurately
You’ll need an API key from Rillet to complete the connection.
Log in to your Rillet account.
Click your account icon (lower-left corner).
Select Organization Settings.
Click API Access.
Select Create API.
Enter a name for the key (for example: Kintsugi). Then, click Create API Key.
Copy the generated API key.
⚠️ Important: Copy and store the API key securely. You may not be able to view it again after leaving the page.
Log in to your Kintsugi app.
Go to Data Sources.
Click Browse Integrations.
Locate the Rillet tile then click Connect.
Paste your Rillet API key and click Save.
After saving the API key:
Kintsugi initiates an initial data import from Rillet.
Customers, invoices, and products are syncing.
The system prepares your account for tax monitoring and calculation.
Once the import completes, your Rillet data will be available within Kintsugi.
After the initial import:
Kintsugi continues syncing data from Rillet.
The integration remains read-only.
Any updates made in Rillet will reflect in Kintsugi during sync cycles.
Exemptions are not directly supported in Rillet. You will need to track and import exemptions or create them manually in Kintsugi. To learn more, refer to this help article: How to Import Customer Exemptions in Kintsugi.
Verify the following integration data:
Products: Kintsugi AI automatically assigns categories and subcategories to products, but you must review and approve them, as not all products are taxed the same.
For guidance on classifying products, see the help article: Updating Product Category and Subcategory. You can also set a default classification for new synced products: How to Set a Default Product Classification.
Invalid and Blank Addresses: In many jurisdictions in the US, sales tax is assessed based on the ship-to address, so you need to ensure the accuracy of the addresses of your transactions. Check out these help articles: How to Update Invalid Addresses in the Kintsugi App and How to Update Blank Addresses in the Kintsugi App
Review and confirm that the visibility of your transactions, customers, and products are synced successfully in the Kintsugi dashboard.
You're all set! Kintsugi will begin calculating and monitoring where you have exposure or have reached nexus and where you need to register.
By keeping your Rillet Read-Only Integration active and properly configured, Kintsugi maintains accurate reporting based on your store's transaction data.
If the connection fails or the import does not complete, here are a few things to check:
Confirm that your API key is valid and active in Rillet.
Make sure the key was copied and pasted correctly without any extra spaces.
Reach out to Kintsugi Support if the issue persists.
