Pay for your Kintsugi subscription directly from your bank account instead of a credit card.
ℹ️ Kintsugi shows this option as Direct Debit. Direct Debit and ACH refer to the same thing here. If you are looking for the bank transfer option at checkout or in your billing settings, look for Direct Debit.
ℹ️ This article is about paying for Kintsugi, not about paying your sales tax.
Kintsugi handles two separate money flows, and they use different bank details:
Paying for Kintsugi covers your subscription and service fees. That is what this article explains.
Remitting sales tax is money Kintsugi sends to state tax authorities on your behalf, using the account you enter under Configuration > Bank Details. See Setting Up Sales Tax Payment for Filings and Registration.
The two accounts can be the same or different. They are stored and used independently.

ACH bank transfer is available to customers paying from a U.S. bank account.
ACH is a U.S. banking network, so it cannot debit an account held outside the United States. If your business banks outside the U.S., pay by credit or debit card instead. See How to Pay for Kintsugi via Credit Card
The Free plan does not require a payment method at all. ACH applies only to Starter and Premium.
ACH is a direct debit. Once your bank account is connected and authorized, Kintsugi pulls each subscription payment automatically on your billing date. You do not need to send anything manually, and you do not need to initiate a wire transfer.
Your bank account is verified when you log in to your bank during setup, so there are no microdeposits to wait for.
If you are on the Free plan, you choose your payment method during checkout.
Log in to Kintsugi.
Go to Configuration > Billing Details.
On the Billing Details page, select Upgrade.
Choose the Starter plan, then select Upgrade under Starter.
The checkout page opens. Your order summary appears on the right. The details you need to enter appear on the left.
Under Account Details, enter your email address. First name and last name are optional.
Under Billing Address, enter your first name, last name, and Address Line 1. Address Line 2 is optional. Then enter your city, ZIP, state, and country.
Under Payment Details, choose Direct Debit instead of Credit card. Your first name and last name carry over automatically.
Read the ACH Debit Authorization Agreement shown in the form, then select Set up ACH.
Choose your bank. Mercury, Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Brex, Silicon Valley Bank, Capital One, PNC, Citi, and Digital Federal Credit Union are listed, and you can search for others.
Select Agree and Continue to allow Kintsugi AI Inc. to connect through Stripe.
Click Continue to proceed with logging in to your bank and follow the prompts to finish connecting.
If you already have a Starter or Premium subscription, you change your payment method from your billing settings rather than through checkout.
Log in to Kintsugi.
Go to Configuration > Billing Details.
On the Payment Method card, select Edit.
Select Add New.
Choose Direct Debit instead of Credit card.
Read the ACH Debit Authorization Agreement shown in the form, then select Set up ACH.
Choose your bank from the list, or search for it.
Select Agree and Continue to allow Kintsugi AI Inc. to connect through Stripe.
Click Continue to proceed with logging in to your bank and follow the prompts to finish connecting.
When you set up ACH, you authorize Kintsugi AI Inc. to debit your account at the financial institution you connect, and to take the actions needed to correct any errors.
This authorization is ongoing. It stays in effect until you revoke it, so you do not need to approve each payment separately.
To revoke your authorization, contact billing@trykintsugi.com or call +1 415 840 8847.
⚠️ Never send bank account or routing numbers by email or chat. You enter your banking details yourself, through your own bank's login. Kintsugi never asks you to send them another way.
If a payment does not go through, check that your bank account is still connected under Configuration > Billing Details > Payment Method then contact Support if you need help.
Q: The option says Direct Debit, not ACH. Is that the same thing?
A: Yes. Direct Debit is the label shown in the checkout and payment method forms. ACH is the U.S. banking network it runs on.
Q: Is this the same bank account Kintsugi uses to pay my sales tax?
A: Not necessarily. The account under Configuration > Bank Details is used only to remit sales tax to states. The account you connect for Direct Debit is used only for your Kintsugi subscription. You can use the same account for both, but you enter it separately in each place.
Q: Can I pay by wire transfer instead?
A: Kintsugi bills subscriptions by ACH direct debit rather than by wire. If wire is the only option available to your business, contact Support so we can look at your situation.
Q: I am outside the U.S. Can I pay by bank transfer?
A: Not by ACH, since it only reaches U.S. bank accounts. Pay by credit or debit card instead.
Q: My bank is not in the list.
A: Search for it in the bank selection screen. The banks shown first are the most common options, not the full list.
Q: Does paying by ACH change my plan or pricing?
A: No. Your plan, pricing, and billing schedule stay the same. Only the payment method changes.
Q: Can I switch back to a credit card later?
A: Yes. Go to Configuration > Billing Details, select Edit on the Payment Method card, and add a card. See How to Pay for Kintsugi via Credit Card
